Tethered to the Ground (©2006 Anders/O'Bitz) A small redemption to be found And I'm headin' for it Oh the modesty of the ground A body evidenced so sound But I'm reelin' from it 'Cause I know what can't be found Tethered to the ground But I'm reelin' from it 'Cause I know what can't be found As I'm headin' for it Feel it all around See it all around A slow acceptance of it now As I'm headin' for it A restless intellect calms down Tethered to the ground But I'm reelin' from it 'Cause I know what can't be found As I'm headin' for it Tethered to the ground But I'm reelin' from it 'Cause I know what can't be found As I'm eadin' for it Tethered to the ground I'm tethered to the ground We're tethered to the ground But we reel from it 'Cause we know what can't be found 'Cause we know what can't be found 'Cause we know what can't be found

Big World Abide (©2006 Anders/O'Bitz) Santa's small world Not just a white lie 'Cause we went to bed So safe inside How hard to say goodnight Big world abide Telling our lies of black and white Safe Inside God's got a list He's checkin' it twice Heaven's the gift For those who are nice But still hard to say goodnight Big world abide Telling our lies of black and white Safe Inside Not innocent fairy tales Red is the sum of this black and white Dealin' in good and evil These believers they terrorize You might hope our lies evolve It seems, hardly at all From the big world we'll ever hide Not abide … say goodnight They said it was just a little white lie We were told before goodnight These lies of black and white Stories for kids to feel safe inside These lies of black and white To which we'll hold and for which we'll die

Remains In Me (©2011 Anders/O'Bitz) Bitter frost They try to keep warm Wet blankets worn over heads At what cost Guns pointed down So many innocents dead What remains in me Of manifest destiny Why give medals of honor For Wounded Knee Pine Ridge wars Dick Wilson's thugs Backed by thugs of the Feds And what for Guns pointed up More dead at Jumping Bull Ranch What remains in me Of manifest destiny Why give medals of honor For Wounded Knee Have we lost Wind Chases the Sun Continues his mournful ghost dance And we're taught The aboriginal sin On which our divided state stands What remains in me Of manifest destiny What chance of honor For genocide's progeny What remains in me Of manifest destiny What chance of honor For genocide's progeny Bitter frost They try to keep warm Wet blankets worn over heads Have we lost Wind Chases the Sun Continues his mournful ghost dance

These People 03:09
These People (©2006 Anders/West) These people who gave me life Lived in color not black and white The unforgettable two are still alive Not true for the four and so on These people who gave me life What debt is owed and who pays the price? What kind of currency could we hope to contrive? How contrived You know I don't know Names of one of the eight of mine Powers of two obscured by time And branching lines If I give someone life How long remembered? Bio memory down the line And how does that matter? The people who saved my life Mostly women but none a wife My sisters mainly have helped me to get by Oh I can't imagine life without them The people who saved my life A debt is owed and the payments mine The currency it is known and older than time And I want to pay it If someone saves a life They will be remembered A type of memory down another line And that seems to matter oh. These people.

Remembering On My Own (©2005 Anders/O'Bitz) Here in these photographs Lovers who have gone The near and far of the past I'm still bettin' on the con … Of waiting for that someone to come along Who'll lighten all my loads and sing my song I just can't believe it's been this long Tears from these photographs Cut me to the bone Haunted by what couldn't last I remember on my own Waiting for that someone to come along Who'll lighten all my loads and sing my song I just can't believe it takes so long … so long No tears and no photographs What's gone is simply gone And though we can't leave the past Can't I get beyond? Waiting for that someone to come along Who'll lighten all my loads and sing my song I just can't believe it's been so long No, I can't believe it's been so long Cannot find the way to make me whole Cannot find that someone for so long Feeling like my waiting was wrong Can't find the way to get back home Can't find the way to get back home I'm left here waiting now they're gone I'm left remembering on my own On my own …

Blister in the Sun (©1980, 2005 Gorno Music) We've been talking It's not enough Man we're so strung out From high as a kite Now we might Stop and just check out Let us go on Like a blister in the sun Let us go on I know you're the one Our bodies beat Strained by these needs Could we ever know why? You're my girlfriend Are we at the end? No use starting to cry Let us go on Like a blister in the sun Let us go on I know you're the one We've been talking It's not enough Man we're so strung out From high as a kite Now we might Stop and just check out Let us go on Like a blister in the sun Let us go on I know you're the one Let us go on Like a blister in the sun Let us go on I know you're the one … On … On ...

Icarus 04:12
Icaurus (©2005 Anders/Mitchell) I search the lowlands For my great escape I can't find her I make my wings To fly above this place So I can reach her I'm flyin' here And I climb up so very high away I'm sure she's there High above where I was all those days So many trials I was hardly chaste Guilty of it An oceanic feeling Set my taste I can't forget it I'm flyin' here And I climb up to the place she stays I'm sure she's there High above where I was all those days And I want Until I'm burned by the sun And I want But my wings melt away Tumblin' through A blue chaos that brings Visions of others Left behind So I could make my wings Hard to recover I'm fallin' here Tangled up inside my wax and string Oh was she there? High above the high of my wings And I want Until I'm burned by the sun And I want But my wings melt away And I want Like I'm the only one And I want And then I fall away Battered and bruised I look for some care I can't find it I made my wings To fly above their fare They won't forget it

Genocide and Justice (©2011 Anders/O'Bitz) They turned down the road A bumpy dirt road In two city cars On a country dirt road Drove into war As if it weren't war They died in this war Off a country dirt road Charged with murder Within an unjust war Just 'cause the victors said so Genocide and justice The mixture does not hold Even if the victors say so We keep saying it's so From Little Big Horn To Wounded Knee To Jumping Bull ranch And '73 The war is won We'll celebrate Columbus Day Let's have a parade Charged with murder Within an unjust war Just 'cause the victors said so Genocide and justice The mixture does not hold Even if the victors say so We keep saying it's so Wind Chases the Sun Still dancing his dance A circle of one Never given a chance Until his freedom Is duly won No parades No Independence Day Charged with murder Within an unjust war Just 'cause the victors said so Genocide and justice The mixture does not hold Even if the victors say so We keep saying it's so

Looking Forward to Your Fall (©2006 Anders/O'Bitz) The higher the climbin' The harder the fall Just an old sayin' I hope says it all … says it all Looking forward to your fall So good I bet Looking forward to your fall Your fall You talked about freedom Billions appalled Abu Ghraib prison You didn't care at all So fond of fighting As long as others called Sixty thousand boomers down Now you control the calling Death toll mounting You don't care … at all twice

Never Enough 03:33
Never Enough (©2003 Anders/O'Bitz) You check your watch We fumble for some words Who would suspect We've been together such a long long time? But we've shown a bit too much Can you only turn and run? You say, "I can't help it" No, you're right I'm sure It's hard to hope like before Don't try ... anymore It could never be enough It used to be You'd look at me and take me in Now, when I catch your eyes The only thing I see in them is distance And a bit of waning guilt You've seemed to have had your fill You say, "I can't help it" No, you're right I'm sure It could never be like before No point... anymore It could never be enough A question for you And one for me too What is enough? Can we decide With peace of mind Based on before And before the before? No, you're right I'm sure It's hard to hope like before Don't try... anymore It could never be enough No, you're right I'm sure It could never be like before No point... anymore It could never be enough

Settlin' Comes (©2005 Anders/Mitchell) If you know the answer to This question all around Why that feelin' so seldom comes Why it's so hard found A feel for settlin' comes Oh in time Ah before settlin' comes I feel for a ride And if I say to you And look you in the eye Sure this feelin's bound to come That is, before this dies And could you look right back at me Say it's not a lie Could you see me as the settlin' kind Not too much to hide A feel for settlin' comes Oh in time Ah before settlin' comes I feel for a ride Why does settlin' make me sigh Make me want to lie Feel for a ride And could you say this warning Won't make you want to fly And do you think you could settle for A "please let us try" A feel for settlin' comes Oh I hope in time Oh I hope this settlin' comes I'm tired of this ride A feel for settlin' comes Oh I hope in time That is before that settlin' comes The kind when we die

How Low and Why (©2006 Anders/O'Bitz) How low and why How low before we open our eyes How low and why How low before we can't ask why How low d'we go with slavery then How low our aboriginal sin How low against the Vietminh How low before it ends How low and why How low our wanton luxury ride How low and why How low before we can't ask why How low d'we go with slavery then How low our aboriginal sin How low against the Vietminh How low before it ends So high we started for the times So high the high for men who were white So high these freedoms, and rights So high so many held them up in awe and began the fight Eyes on the prize How low and why How low so we can turn off the fight How low and why How low now that we can't ask why How low d'we go with slavery then How low our aboriginal sin How low against the Vietminh How low before it ends How low before it ends For it ends ... for it ends
