about

The is the first cover I ever released. Mark O'Bitz and I developed this version. Matthew Emerson Brown produced it and it was released on Tethered to the Ground (2006). We had to get permission from Gordon Gano of the Violent Femmes because we changed the lyrics. So we had to give Gano ownership of our version of the song. He gave us this permission because he liked our very different version.

Blister in the Sun
(©1980, 2005 Gorno Music)

We've been talking
It's not enough
Man we're so strung out
From high as a kite
Now we might
Stop and just check out

Let us go on
Like a blister in the sun
Let us go on
I know you're the one

Our bodies beat
Strained by these needs
Could we ever know why?
You're my girlfriend
Are we at the end?
No use starting to cry

Let us go on
Like a blister in the sun
Let us go on
I know you're the one

We've been talking
It's not enough
Man we're so strung out
From high as a kite
Now we might
Stop and just check out

Let us go on
Like a blister in the sun
Let us go on
I know you're the one

Let us go on
Like a blister in the sun
Let us go on
I know you're the one … On … On ...
